Breast Lift Before & After Case 459
Provider: Dr. Daniel Sherick
Procedures Performed Breast Lift
Patient Age 55
Patient Gender Female
Race Black or African American
Before surgery, this patient presented with significant breast ptosis and visible asymmetry. The breasts showed considerable downward displacement, with the nipple-areolar complexes positioned well below the breast crests. The two sides differed notably in projection and nipple position, differences visible in both the frontal and lateral views.
Our surgeon, Dr. Daniel Sherick, performed a mastopexy to address the ptosis and asymmetry. In the after photos, the breasts sit higher on the chest wall, and the nipple-areolar complexes are repositioned to a more forward-facing orientation. The difference in positioning between the two sides is also less pronounced. Incision lines are visible and consistent with the mastopexy technique, but will continue to fade over time as she heals.
For those researching a breast lift in Ann Arbor, this case shows what mastopexy can address following significant weight loss: breast ptosis and the asymmetry that often accompanies it. This patient lost approximately 60 pounds prior to surgery, and the before photos reflect the breast changes that can follow that degree of weight change.
